Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A search term entered into a third-party search box is processed by the provider that operates that tool. We do not maintain a Wayne County case-search database or retain the query as a court-record file. The provider's policy governs its own processing.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If a visitor voluntarily sends a message to us, we may keep the message and contact details needed to respond, administer the request, or comply with a legal obligation. We do not sell the content of those communications.
Data We Gather Automatically
Web hosting and analytics services may receive routine technical information when a page loads.
- IP address and approximate technical location data.
- Browser, operating-system, and device information.
- Pages viewed, visit timing, and referral source.
- Diagnostic information used to maintain performance and security.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files that allow services to recognize a browser or measure aggregate use. Browser controls can limit or block cookies, although parts of a service may work differently afterward. Analytics reports help measure overall usage; they do not create or sell a court-record profile about a visitor.
What We Do With This Data
Information is used to operate, secure, and improve the resource and to route a submitted search to its provider.
- Maintain page availability and diagnose technical faults.
- Understand aggregate traffic and navigation patterns.
- Deliver a requested search to its outside provider.
- Measure advertising or referral performance where applicable.
- Meet a lawful disclosure requirement when one applies.
No Court-Record Data on File
Wayne County Court Docket does not host, compile, or sell court-docket or case-file databases. It describes how to reach the Wayne County Clerk of Courts, the Court of Common Pleas, Wayne County Municipal Court, and the separate Probate and Juvenile record path. The official online court information is a convenience copy; the original record remains with its holding court or Clerk. We do not use visitor information to produce consumer reports.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes placed on certain pages. Their privacy terms, retention rules, and pricing apply to an input made in those tools. We do not control their systems or their results. Review the provider's privacy notice before submitting a name, case number, citation number, or other information.
Links to Other Websites
Links to the Wayne Clerk, local courts, Ohio judiciary, and other external sources leave this resource. The destination site's policy governs activity after that point. Advertising technology may also operate under the advertising provider's own terms.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Limited data may be disclosed to service providers that support a permitted function or to authorities when a valid legal requirement applies.
- Search providers that process an entered query.
- Hosting, analytics, security, and advertising providers.
- Personnel who need information to maintain the resource.
- Government or law-enforcement bodies responding to a valid legal demand.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used to protect information within our control. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so visitors should avoid sending sensitive information unless an official court or Clerk provides an appropriate channel.
Users Under 18
This resource is not intended to collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that information from a child was submitted directly to us, we will take reasonable steps to delete it. Court-record access for Juvenile matters is governed separately by the court and Ohio law.
Your Data Rights
Requests about personal information held by this private resource may be sent to us for review. Ohio court-record access is governed by the Ohio Public Records Act, R.C. 149.43, and by the Ohio Rules of Superintendence governing court-record access and identifiers. Those authorities concern public offices and court records; they do not convert this private resource into a court custodian.
- Ask what direct-contact information we retain about you.
- Request correction of information that is inaccurate.
- Ask us to delete information when retention is not required.
- Ask how an outside provider handles an input made through its service.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as services or legal requirements change. The updated policy will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
